Using your free webspace to make a website

Your webspace can be viewed by going to www.surecw.com/private/yourusername. Initially there will be nothing on this site until you populate it by uploading an index.html document using FTP upload software. To make a website you will need:

1. Some webpage building software. You can either pay for this software such as Dreamweaver or you can get some free software such as NVU.
2. Next you will need some FTP software such as Leech FTP, or SMARTFTP which enables you to upload your web pages onto your webspace.
3. Ensure that you name your main page, or home page, as index.htm or index.html, this ensures that it is the first page people see when they visit.
4. When setting up a new connection to upload your pages using the FTP uploader input the following settings:

Host of URL

ftp.cwgsy.net/

Username

Your username (the part of your email address before @cwgsy.net)

Password

The password for your webspace account.

Port

21

Now you can list your webpage in our directory if you would like to and let people know what your web address is via email. It will be in the format:

www.cwgsy.net/private/yourusername

Simply login to your account and click on Account Details to make your website visible to the public.
